Dajulong Plastic Flooring: Powering Gui'an Tech Park's Vitality

Challenges of Traditional Flooring in Yuanjiang TCM Hospital

Before the renovation, Yuanjiang TCM Hospital used traditional ceramic tiles for its floors, which failed to meet the rigorous demands of a medical environment. Firstly, the tiles lacked effective antibacterial properties, making it difficult to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus— a critical flaw in areas where infection control is paramount. Secondly, the tiles had poor wear resistance; frequent foot traffic from medical staff, patients, and mobile medical equipment led to frequent scratches and cracks, compromising the floor’s longevity. Thirdly, the inadequate slip resistance of traditional tiles posed a significant fall risk, especially for elderly patients and disabled individuals. Additionally, the porous surface of the tiles made them prone to dirt and stain accumulation, resulting in high daily cleaning and maintenance costs. These issues prompted the hospital to seek a more reliable flooring solution.

Why Homogeneous Through-Colour PVC Flooring Was Selected

After extensive research and on-site inspections, the hospital’s management team decided to adopt homogeneous through-colour PVC flooring. This choice was driven by the product’s inherent advantages that align perfectly with medical needs. The medical homogeneous through-colour flooring boasts a 99% antibacterial rate, complying with the international ISO22196 standard, which effectively reduces the risk of cross-infection. It also features an R9 slip resistance rating, ensuring excellent anti-slip performance even in wet conditions— a key requirement for hospital corridors, wards, and treatment rooms.

Moreover, the homogeneous through-colour structure of the PVC flooring ensures that its appearance remains consistent even after long-term wear and tear, eliminating the need for frequent replacement. The material is also resistant to corrosion from common medical disinfectants such as iodine tincture and alcohol, making it easy to clean and maintain. To verify the product’s reliability, the hospital team visited the manufacturing base of Dajulong, a leading provider of homogeneous through-colour PVC flooring, and reviewed detailed test reports and production processes.

Project Implementation and Remarkable Results

Following three months of solution optimization and sample testing, the hospital officially placed an order for 8,500 square meters of medical homogeneous through-colour flooring. The construction team carried out the installation efficiently, completing the entire project in just 45 days with minimal disruption to the hospital’s daily operations. Since the completion of the flooring upgrade, the hospital has witnessed significant improvements.

The antibacterial and easy-to-clean properties of the homogeneous through-colour PVC flooring have reduced the workload of cleaning staff and improved the overall hygiene level of the hospital. The excellent wear resistance and slip resistance have ensured a safe and durable flooring environment, with no reported fall incidents related to flooring issues. Additionally, the flooring has cut the hospital’s annual maintenance costs by 58%, freeing up resources for medical service improvements. The success of this project has not only enhanced the patient experience but also served as a model for other healthcare facilities in the region looking to upgrade their flooring systems with homogeneous through-colour PVC flooring.
