：How to Install PVC Plastic Flooring? Complete the Installation Easily in 4 Steps
Many people worry about "how to install PVC plastic flooring". In fact, as long as you master the correct process, whether it is professional construction or self-installation by experienced homeowners, you can finish the work efficiently, and the installed flooring will be stable and durable.
This is a crucial prerequisite for installation. The ground must be level (with an error of no more than 2mm), dry (moisture content below 3%), and clean, free of dust, oil stains, or protruding impurities. If there are cracks in the ground, they should be repaired and leveled with putty; damp ground also requires moisture-proof treatment. For cement floors, it is recommended to apply an interface agent first to enhance the adhesion between the flooring and the ground, preventing warping later.
Based on the room size and the specifications of the PVC plastic flooring (commonly 1.8m×0.2m, 2m×0.2m), snap a reference line parallel to the wall. This ensures a uniform flooring installation direction and reduces waste from cutting edges and corners. Especially in large spaces such as living rooms and bedrooms, it is necessary to plan the joint positions in advance to ensure overall aesthetics.
There are two installation methods:
- Homogeneous full-body PVC flooring (e.g., Dajulong Senyan Series) is mostly installed with adhesive. Apply special PVC flooring adhesive evenly on the ground, let it stand for 5–10 minutes, then lay the flooring aligned with the reference line. Tap and compact it with a rubber mallet to ensure no air bubbles.
- Composite PVC flooring can be installed using the locking method. No adhesive is needed—just splice the locking joints directly, making it more suitable for self-installation.
During installation, note to reserve a 5–8mm expansion gap to accommodate flooring expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes.
After installation, use a special tool to cut off the excess parts at the edges and corners; special sealant can be filled in the gaps. Finally, install baseboards at doorways and wall corners to cover the expansion gaps and protect the flooring edges at the same time. It is recommended to let the flooring stand for 24 hours before use to allow the adhesive to fully cure.
